Reporting to the Senior Director, Software Engineering, the Software Engineer III is responsible for being an effective member of the scrum team, participating in the maintenance and development of Cofense PhishMe, mentoring less experienced engineers, and being mentored by those more experienced.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Implement new features using code that emphasize clarity, robustness, and maintainability
Maintain, support, and improve existing features
Actively learn and teach through pair programming and code reviews
Contribute to team planning efforts assessing technical feasibility of product changes
Rotating on-call duties with other team members
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Proficiency with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
Test-Driven Development with RSpec, MiniTest, Cucumber, or equivalent
git or similar VCS
Proficiency with relational databases (e.
g.
MySQL, Postgres) independent of ORMs
Comfort navigating the command line
Experience with AWS (Certified Solutions Architect preferred, any level)
Motivation and curiosity to continuously learn and improve
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
At least three years professional experience developing a Ruby on Rails application
At least three years of overall professional experience preferred
