Duties & Responsibilities:
The Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) division of VIAVI Solutions offers you an exciting opportunity to apply your embedded software development skills to develop highly sophisticated and innovative solutions for critical infrastructure serving both military and civilian applications.
As part of our high-energy agile team you will work closely together with hardware, software and product line management and be responsible for the design, development and test of modules, subsystems and box-level solutions for next generation defense, space, commercial aviation, transportation, and telecommunication network applications.
Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works together with Engineering and Business Unit teams to clarify product features and define functional requirements and acceptance tests
Requirement for regular in-office work
Contributes as agile team member to architecture, design, development and test
Solves complex issues using structured, in-depth analysis capabilities
Comfortable coding is micro-operating system environments utilizing basic JTAG and SW based emulators
Participates in current and new development, innovation and strategic initiatives
Scope, priority and risk management
Adherence to standards and defined processes

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (required)
BSEE/BSCS/BSCE
High level language programming experience - C/C++ (6 -10+ years)
Demonstrable experience in development of firmware (several years of low-level control of hardware)
Embedded OS experience – Linux, ARM (4-6+ years) ECOS, RTOS
Experienced in Waterfall and Agile methodologies (5+ years)
US Citizenship
JOB QUALIFICATIONS (desired)
Advanced engineering degree (MSEE/MSCS/MSCE/PhD) or equivalent experience
Experience in architecting and designing solutions using OO methodologies (4-6+ years)
Satellite Positioning, Navigation and Timing Experience is a plus
Python
Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts and tools (Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyzer, ….
)
