Description:
Summary: The Camp Program Manager organizes and facilitates activities for all Camping & Therapeutic Recreation programs.
In the winter, the Camp Program Manager coordinates all aspects of the Weekend Respite program, Assisted Travel, and other community events.
The Camp Program Manager will oversee all camp programming in the summer, including the Travel Camp program and League Pioneers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, plan, and facilitate Weekend Respite programs and Winter Camp, including developing lesson plans, organizing and purchasing supplies, leading programs, and facilitating facility set-up and close-down.
Develop, plan, and facilitate the Travel Camp program, including planning each trip, developing itineraries, and facilitating the trip.
Act as the lead facilitator for year-round therapeutic recreation programs, including assisted travel, sailing, and other social events as needed.
Create age-appropriate, interactive, intentional summer camp and year-round camp activities.
Supervise year-round and seasonal camp staff in a positive, proactive manner.
Live onsite during summer and winter camping programs.
Work with other camp administrators to ensure all programs follow state and ACA guidelines.
In the summer, assume the role of the Camp Director in their absence.
Fully participate on the Camping & Therapeutic Recreation management team

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Director of Camping and Recreation with participant and staff recruitment when needed.
Work with the Director to meet budget projections and get proper administrative approval for all expenses.
Assist in the general direction of camp and complete other duties as assigned.
Operationalize the mission of The League for People with Disabilities by creating a supportive environment for participants and staff.
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director.
Work with other staff to meet the needs of participants.
Complete, timely evaluations of all staff supervised.

Requirements:
The ability to work with diverse populations.
Have the ability to inject enthusiasm into all skits & programs they lead.
Have a valid state of Maryland driver’s license with a clean driving record with no more than 2 points.
Be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
per safe lifting practices.
Can work from 7 am until midnight during the summer months.
Medication Administration Certification, Behavioral Principles and Strategies, AED, First Aid, and CPR preferred.
Education and/or Experience
Experience working with people with disabilities and supervising staff.
Four years of previous summer camp or recreational experience
BA/BS in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Management, or related fields; CTRS or CPRP preferred.
