The Sourcing Manager will work onsite at FMC and have accountability for spend categories at the Frederick Manufacturing Center, develop and contribute to long term strategic plans for the entire spend area within AstraZeneca or Region.
Manage customer and supplier relationships to ensure that Category Strategies are highly aligned to current and future business needs and that the supply base is capable of supporting these strategies.
Accountabilities: Responsible for managing services associated with Capital and Engineering Procurement to deliver key sourcing and commercial activities, ensuring the continuance of production of bulk drug substance for the Frederick Manufacturing Centre.
Responsible for contract negotiations for complex services or products with new and existing suppliers.
Price negotiations to mitigate costs/obtain savings when possible.
Drives the preparation of competitive bids, quotations and proposals with pertinent specifications, terms and conditions Manages local sourcing activity in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Coordinates the introduction of new and Supplier modified materials with appropriate departments Conducts key supplier performance management activity for local suppliers including; Business Review Meeting management, risk and performance management, sustainability and innovation initiatives.
Point of escalation for supply related issues.
Supports Global/Regional Category Lead in the development of long term strategic plans for agreed scope of spend area Oversees implementation of category (sub category) plan to ensure that the underpinning process improvement and procurement activities deliver the expected business value in accordance with the strategic plans Develops, evaluates or manages internal and external relationships with suppliers, Category Teams and other cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Partners with Global Category Managers to help mitigate escalations and material shortages Partner with local suppliers on sustainability initiatives Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Essential Bachelor Degree in Business, or Engineering required Experience negotiating complex contracts Relevant work experience (4 years) Oral and written fluency in Business English Supplier Management experience Ability to manage multiple project and prioritize among different types of projects Sense of urgency but ability to remain calm under pressure Resourcefulness and innovation Patience and inquisitiveness Ability to demonstrate a range of influencing techniques Proven ability to manage fast pace change Strong organizational, analytical and financial skills SAP, Excel and Windows proficiency Desirable 5+ years relevant Procurement experience Familiarity with pharma/biologics industry and the raw materials used in processes Professional Procurement Qualification Project Management Certification Lean, or Six Sigma Certification When we put unexpected teams in the same room, we unleash bold thinking with the power to inspire life-changing medicines.
