Recreation Programmers plan and facilitate programs and special events, including developing, marketing, and promoting new events.
In addition, they are instrumental support in hiring and training staff and implementing community center programs.
The successful candidate will be organized, flexible, team-oriented, have good time management skills, and be able to communicate effectively across a large organization.
PRCS serves a diverse population including but not limited to youth, adults, individuals with disabilities, and seniors.
We are currently hiring at the following locations: * Philomont Community Center, Philomont VA * Lucketts Community Center, Leesburg VA * Sterling Community Center, Sterling VA * Loudoun Valley Community Center, Purcellville VA Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Creates, plans, and manages recreation events, classes, and programs for diverse participants and age groups.
* Develops and manages program budget along with a marketing plan.
* Monitors participants and patrons.
* Recruits, hires, and trains instructors and volunteers to help with activities, events, and classes.
* Designs and creates marketing materials to promote community center activities.
* Maintenance and use of vehicle to conduct community outreach programs, promotions and events.
* May perform other essential job functions specific to the position and department assignment.

* Managing large-scale events and conducting outreach activities in a community setting.
* The ability to use a variety of computer programs, such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows, Canva, and RecTrac.
* Specialized knowledge of special recreation programs for individuals of all ages and disabilities.
*Post Conditional Offer Contingencies* * Criminal background, DMV, Child Protective Services (CPS), Fingerprint, and credit check are required.
* Valid driver's license and good driving record required (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification).
* TB test must be within 30 days before hire.
* First Aid/CPR at hire or within 30 days of hire date.
```Duties``` - Assist in planning and implementing engaging and educational activities for children during the summer program- Provide supervision and ensure the safety of children at all times- Support the lead teacher in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment- Assist with classroom management, including behavior management and conflict resolution- Collaborate with other staff members to create a fun and enriching summer experience for children- Help with setup and cleanup of activity areas```Requirements``` - Experience working with children, preferably in a daycare, childcare, or educational setting - Knowledge of childhood development and age-appropriate activities - Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team - Ability to provide Christian counseling and incorporate Christian values into activities (if applicable) - Familiarity with theater or performing arts is a plus - Background in early childhood education or special education is highly desirable - Must be reliable, responsible, and have a passion for working with childrenNote: This is a temporary position for the summer months.
