The Endoscopy Technician 2 will prepare and maintain the medical facility's instruments, equipment, and sterile environments necessary for procedures.
Job Responsibilities
Inclusive of the duties and responsibilities of Endo Tech 1.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice in the role of the Endo tech.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of anatomy and is able to anticipate he required instrumentation for each step of both basic and advanced endoscopic procedures.
Expedites the procedure by anticipating the needs of the endoscopist.
Demonstrates collaboration with other team members in planning/giving patient care; Actively shares knowledge with staff regarding devices/techniques and procedures.
Provides working knowledge of basic and some advanced endoscopy procedures, devices and equipment.
Assists in the evaluation of new products and equipment.
Demonstrates responsible behavior as a healthcare professional.
Demonstrates a willingness to critique own practice and pursues improvement opportunities.
Participates in at least one unit based committee/council and/or accepts individual assignment to work on improving patient care/unit based issues.
Documents evidence of at least 8 hours of self-development activities.
Successful completion of the SGNA Associate's Program.
May perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
Location - Inova Loudoun
Minimum Education - High School or equivalent.
Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates Program Completion
Schedule - 40 hr/week, 8 hour per day.
The shift would be 7-3:30 or 9-5:30 flexing as the department/caseload requires
Experience - 1 year endoscopy technician experience REQUIRED
Licensing - BLS from AHA Upon START
