Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director, Supply Chain, the Contract Manager is responsible for the non-physician contracting function related to supplies, capital and services for Frederick Health.
The Contract Manager will oversee one or more Contract Administrators or Contract Specialists to assist in the contracting function.
Essential duties are as follows:
Ownership and oversight of GPO Contract calendars and trackers
Ownership and oversight of GHX CCXpert (supplies) and Symplr CLM (Service, Capital) contract management databases
Work with Supply Chain VA, Analytics and Sourcing to ensure proper execution of GPO agreements and Local agreements where GPO agreements are not feasible;
Service and Capital: Work with supply chain team and hospital customers to execute agreements that maximize value and mitigate risk
Work closely with a variety of levels of hospital management, clinicians and medical staff to identify organization’s needs relative to new technology, capital equipment and services; will ensure contract renewals are managed appropriately and timely;
S/he reviews contracts for compliance with company policies and negotiates contracts consistent with Frederick Health standards where achievable
Development and submission of RFPs
This role develops and analyzes various reports and interprets financial and statistical information related to Supply Chain agreements and purchases.
S/he manages vendor relations, supplier’s performance, GPO contracting activities, and cost index on a routine basis.
Work closely with the Value Analysis team to ensure pricing/contract alignment with product requests and conversions resulting from contract initiative
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated supervisory and management skills and good oral and written communication skills.
Must be highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy, an effective communicator, possess good interpersonal and presentation skills and be able to work in a fast-paced team environment;
Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel with the ability to import/export data to and from various sources;
Strong knowledge of medical supplies, capital and services;
Strong knowledge of core contracting concepts around pricing, delivery, term, indemnification, governing law, payment terms, returns, etc.
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, healthcare or clinical discipline or equivalent combination of certification and experience is required;
Minimum of 2-3 years of job-related experience and two years of supervisory experience is required, with additional technical/supervisory experience preferred;
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required;
