The Lead Facilities Technician monitors system performances and provides routine equipment repairs and maintenance at our airport restaurant.
This role is responsible for coordinating maintenance and repairs by third-party service providers and vendors, examining costs, timeline, and quality of vendors.
The Facilities Manager provides maintenance and upkeep of the units, managing open service requests, assigning priority designation based on the level of urgency, evaluating, and communicating issues with teams to achieve timely resolution.
This role partners with the Director of Airport Operations (DO), Regional Facilities Manager, and Operations Manager in achieving and maintaining the highest level of efficiency, ensuring consistently positive customer experience at every location.
Based in MDW, Chicago this position pays $36 - $40 hourly
Requires up to 25% travel throughout the US and Canada
Overview of Responsibilities
Communicate routinely with DOs and operations managers, ensuring triage, and attempting to provide self-help support to units
Initiate technician dispatch, when necessary, after determining that self-perform repairs and maintenance tasks did not resolve the issue
Identify and expedite high priority issues, ensuring we expedite repairs or replacement of equipment, communicating with units as well as service providers ensuring we resolve high priority service requests as quickly as possible
Provide constant attention to open service call volumes, ensuring third party vendors are keeping up with demand, monitor repeat failures, identify potential systemic issues, and research quality of workmanship as well as life cycle of equipment
Monitor scheduled maintenance events, such as preventative maintenance, electrical, plumbing, etc.
, ensuring all work is completed within allocated timelines
Identify multiple failures of specific equipment and equipment performance beyond useful life, initiating process for replacement
Ability to work holiday’s, nights, or overnight, as required
Willingness to perform and complete all work within skillset
Required Experience & Education
High School graduate or Bachelor of Science degree with technical training and/or maintenance preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field
Multi-unit restaurant and/or airport maintenance experience strongly preferred
Strong mechanical skillset with basic understanding of commercial building equipment and applications
Experience with Service Channel or similar software preferred
Experience tracking maintenance requests through an associated software
Experience in HVAC commercial service, Phase 2 electrical / mechanical, and Basic carpentry
Ability to self- perform tasks such as painting, basic commercial plumbing, and other “handyman” tasks
Certified or experience in hot or cold kitchen equipment preferred
Ability to interact at all levels in the organization, including third party field resources and contractors
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
