Litigation Paralegal
Sole practitioner in Northern Virginia seeks a full-time litigation paralegal.
This is a fully remote position, requiring local travel from time-to-time to local courthouses.
This position can be what you make of it, offering opportunities for extensive client contact, a variety of legal writing, discovery, and hearing / trial preparation and attendance.
The areas of practice include commercial litigation, trust and estate litigation, fiduciary litigation, and criminal law in federal courts.
Responsibilities include:
* Draft / review / citecheck litigation documents including pleadings, discovery and motions for attorney review.
* Perform legal research under attorney direction.
* Prepare correspondence to clients.
* Conduct client intake interviews and set up client files.
* Review / organize / scan files and documents submitted by clients.
* Create and maintain effective working relationships with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel and others.
* File pleadings in local courthouses
* Oversee case management, including calendaring and document filing.
Requirements:
* At least one-year previous law firm experience.
* Familiarity with Virginia court procedures and websites.
* Knowledge of MS Office products.
* Attention to detail and ability to meet short-term deadlines.

Salary: $55,000 – $60,000, depending on experience.
