This needs to leave my house! Specs from manufacturer are as follows: Product Research System Features DVD Features VCR Features Inputs and Outputs Notes System Features Memory Stick Port: The DVD-V2500 features a Memory Stick port on the front panel that allows you to play MP3 digital audio files as well as view JPEG digital images captured on Memory Stick media.
Photo CD Compatibility: Unlike many other players, the DVD-V2500 can display JPEG images recorded on a Photo CD.
Digital Audio Manager (DAM): When playing MP3 music recorded on Memory Stick, the Digital Audio Manager allows you to navigate through the various menus and select which folders and files to play.
The DAM also gives you the following playback options: Folder Repeat, Shuffle (no repeats), Continuous Shuffle.
Digital Photo Manager (DPM): When viewing digital still photos recorded on Memory Stick or Photo CD, the Digital Photo Manager allows you to display the photos in a number of ways.
You can view one image at a time, view several thumbnail images on the screen at once, or set up a continuous slide show presentation.
The DPM can also edit images in a number of ways, including "flipping" the photo to display a mirror image, adding filters, adjusting the color balance, or softening the image.
Auto Setup: The first time you connect this unit, or after an extended power outage, the Auto Setup procedure will automatically search for all active channels and set the clock.
If Auto Setup was unable to find a local station to set the unit's internal clock, you may set the clock manually.
On-Screen Menus: The on-screen menu system allows you to set all functions for this unit.
The on-screen menu language can be set to English, French, or Spanish.
Multibrand Jog/Shuttle Remote: The supplied remote (00001A) is pre-programmed to fully operate this unit and the basic functions on other brands of TVs.
It contains a jog dial and shuttle ring which gives you quick and easy navigation through the DVD and VCR content.
Auto Power Off: You can set the auto power off to 1 hour (after the last button is pressed), 2 hours, or Off (no auto power off).
Display Dimmer: You can set the front panel display to be bright all the time, dim all the time, or dim during power off.
Note On Recording: It is not possible to record from DVD/Video CD/CD to VHS tape with this deck.
DVD Features Video D/A Converter: The DVD-V2500 uses a 27MHz/10-bit video Digital-to-Analog Converter, which reduces digital artifacts for a better picture.
Audio D/A Converters: This unit features dual 96khz/24-bit audio D/A converters to ensure greater audio accuracy with every disc, especially recent releases recorded in the ultra high fidelity 96kHz/24 bit format.
MP3 Playback: This unit will play MP3 files recorded onto CD-R and most CD-RW discs using the ISO 9660 or Joliet formats.
During MP3 playback, up to 8 music folders can be displayed at a time.
You can easily search for a particular folder or file from the menu.
Program Play and Random Play are also available during MP3 playback.
Component Video Output: In addition to the two composite video outputs and the S-video output, this unit is equipped with a set of component video outputs.
When connected to a television with a component video input, the component video output of this unit will provide picture color and detail that is improved relative to video from composite and S-video outputs.
Progressive Scan With 3-2 Pulldown: This DVD player may be set to output a progressive scan or interlaced video signal from the component video output.
Instead of splitting each video frame into two sequential fields like interlaced scanning, progressive scanning displays the entire frame in a single sweep.
Where a standard DVD player's 480i output displays 30 frames (60 fields) per second, a progressive-scan player's 480p output displays 60 full frames per second.
Progressive-scan picture quality is more film-like, with more fine detail and less flicker.
Progressive-scan viewing requires a TV with a progressive scan compatible component video input.
The 3-2 Pulldown technology further improves the Progressive Scan video signal by converting film-based material shot at 24 frames per second to 30 frames per second, adding additional frames in sequence to reduce jitter and other video artifacts.
Note: There is a switch on the back panel which allows you to switch between Progressive Scan (480p) and Interlaced (NTSC Standard 480i).
Resume Function: When you stop disc play, the player remembers where you stopped, so when you press Play again, it will pick up where you left off.
If the disc is removed, or the Stop button is pressed twice, the Resume function is cancelled.
Variable Search: During playback, you can search forward or reverse in up to 6 speeds.
When playing back a DVD or CD, the fast search speeds are 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x and 128x normal speed.
Slow Motion Play: When playing a DVD, you may move forward or backward through the program being played in one of the following slow-motion speeds: 1/2, 1/4, or 1/8 speed.
No sound is output during slow motion play.
Frame Advance: In the pause mode, you can view a DVD or Video CD one frame at a time by rotating the jog dial on the remote control.
This can only be done in the forward direction.
Program Play/Random Play: In the menu, you can select whether you want the player to play the chapters/tracks in a specific order (up to a maximum of 20 tracks), or in random order.
Bookmark: The Bookmark function allows you to select parts of a DVD or VCD so that you can quickly find the section at a later time.
You can bookmark up to 3 scenes at at time.
Motion Zoom: During playback or in the pause mode of a DVD or VCD, you can zoom in on a particular part of the screen.
When the Zoom button is pressed, a square will be displayed on the screen.
You can move up or down, left or right to select the part of the screen you want to zoom in on.
On a DVD you can zoom in either 2x or 4x normal size.
Camera Angles: On DVDs recorded with multiple angles, you can select which angle to view a particular scene.
3D Sound: When listening to a DVD in two-channel stereo through the analog outputs, the 3D Sound function uses a Phantom Surround Processor to give you a simulated surround effect.
3D sound is possible only on discs recorded using Dolby Surround or Dolby Digital and does not work when using the digital output.
Screen Fit: During playback of a DVD, the Screen Fit feature gives you the ability to assure the images are configured perfectly for both 16:9 Widescreen TVs or traditional 4:3 sets.
Screen Fit eliminates the black bars that may occur when a movie is playing in the Widescreen format.
In addition, when Screen Fit is active, you can still zoom in further if desired.
Note: Screen fit does not work on DVD recorded in a multi-camera angle format, and on some DVDs with unusual aspect ratios.
VCR Features S-VHS Playback: The VCR can playback high-quality S-VHS recordings.
It cannot, however, record in S-VHS.
Special Playback Features: While a videotape is playing, you can enjoy a variety of special playback features, including Still, Frame Advance, Cue/Review, Skip, Repeat and Shuttle.
Cue/Review: In the Play mode, you can cue (fast forward) or review (rewind) in 2 speeds: Picture Search advances the tape at 5x normal speed.
Jet Search advances the tape at 7x normal speed.
Scan and Play: While playing back a videotape, you can search forward or backward for an index mark (made at the beginning of each recording).
When an index mark is found, the VCR plays for about 5 seconds.
If you desire to view that program, you can press Play.
If not, the VCR will automatically search for the next index mark.
End Search: If you are searching for a blank position on a tape to record a program, you can press the "Down" arrow and the VCR will search for the next blank portion of the tape.
If the VCR reaches the end of the tape during End Search, it will eject the tape.
Go to 0:00:00 Stop: This feature allows you to reset the counter to zero during play or record.
When in stop mode, press the "Up" arrow and the tape will advance or rewind to the last point where the counter was set at zero.
Skip: In play mode, the Skip feature allows you to cue ahead 30 seconds of recorded program.
You may press the Skip button up to 4 times to cue ahead 2 minutes.
Repeat: This feature allows you to review the last 5 seconds of tape from the current playback point.
Shuttle: From the play mode, "Shuttle>>" gradually increases the cue speed from Double-speed playback to Picture Search to Jet Search.
"Shuttle<<" gradually slows down the tape, then goes into Slow mode, Still mode, Reverse Picture Search, and Reverse Jet Search.
Tracking: The VCR automatically adjusts the tracking to remove the white lines that sometimes appear when viewing a videotape.
Tracking can also be done manually with the remote.
Auto Play: A videotape without recording tabs will play automatically when inserted into the VCR.
Recording Speed: The VCR can record in SP or SLP mode.
One-Touch Recording (OTR): When in the Record mode, you can add recording time in 30-minute increments up to 4 hours.
Timer Recording: Up to a month in advance, the Timer Recording feature allows you to program up to 8 events to be recorded.
Inputs and Outputs Notes Composite and RF (Coax): The internal TV tuner, VCR signals, Memory Stick video and the On Screen Display are output only through the RF (Coax) and Composite Video outputs.
DVD Outputs: The DVD video signal is output through the RF, Composite, S-Video and Component Video outputs.
Video Out Select: The "DVD Only" video output has a switch that allows you to choose whether you desire a Progressive Scan video signal output from the Component Video outputs or an NTSC Standard Interlaced video signal.
The S-Video signals will only work when the switch is in the Interlaced signal position.
There is no output from the S-Video jack when the switch is in the Progressive Scan position.
Front Panel Inputs: The Line In 2 inputs, a pair of RCA stereo audio jacks and a composite video jack, are located on the front panel.
DVR/VCR unit has slight scratch on top from standard wear and tear that comes with time.
Comes with original remote, but NO cables.
