Position Overview
The Financial Analyst performs standard financial and accounting tasks in a newly established Oracle Financial System.
The employee in this position performs the periodic review and analysis of billing transactions reports and records receivable transactions in the Financial System.
This position requires understanding of revenue recognition that relates to the school organization expenditures, accrued liabilities as well as other revenue streams.
The Financial Analyst reviews and analyses past due accounts and takes a course of action in the collection of receivables while adhering to school administration guidelines.
This position requires knowledge of best practices in application of sound internal controls in a large organization and General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards.
Independent judgment is exercised in applying acquired knowledge and skills for the successful completion of all assigned responsibilities.
Roles and Responsibilities

Adheres to internal controls to properly record financial transactions.
Maintains all receivables documentation details records in an electronic filing system.
Works with various Finance Services stakeholders to effectively monitor and acquire billing transaction data.
Maintains an effective customer relationship with internal and external customers that require Financial Services information.
Reviews and analyses accounts status reports and takes a course of action for the collection of past due amounts.
Assists the Supervisor of Budget and Financial Analytics in the identification of new efficiencies for the automation of all related workflows.
Prepares Ad Hoc Financial analyses as assigned by the Director of Budget and Financial Analytics and the Supervisor of Budget and Financial Analytics
Support modeling and analysis of LCPS total compensation programs
Design and produce authoritative, standardized, and actionable financial reports
Qualifications
Below are the qualifications for this position:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting field
Five or more years of applicable experience including work with an automated financial management system of a large organization (school system preferred)
Understanding data base technical terminology and with Microsoft Office applications suit is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
Ability to work independently and accurately under pressure in a large environment is essential.
Strong organizational skills and efficient time management is required
