Controller Job Summary:
RW Warner is growing and has an immediate need for a Controller to join their Corporate Finance Team and report to the CFO.
The controller is responsible for overseeing financial statements like balance sheets, invoices, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Their duties include directing accounting department staff and department operations, compiling financial reports based on financial statements and implementing policies and procedures for financial reporting.
Salary is based on experience.
Target range is 110K – 120K.
Duties:
Oversee the organization’s daily accounting.
Managing the accounting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable staff
Working with the executive team to guide the organization’s financial decisions
Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
Coordinating activities of external auditors / accountants
Assists the CFO with the budget process
Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
Implement consistent accounting policies, practices and procedures while adhering to national and local legal and accounting standards and maintaining awareness of proposed legislation.
Developing and monitoring financial performance metrics
Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
Identify gaps in existing business system reporting, and ongoing evaluation of system capabilities
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
CPA, CGMA, CMA, MBA or CCIFP (which is construction industry specific) is preferred.
Public accounting is highly valued.
Experience with Construction Job Cost Accounting and Inventory is preferred.
Passion for managing numbers and guiding sound financial decisions.
At least 5 years of experience managing an accounting team, and success motivating workers to maximize their potential, improve productivity and help the business grow.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills demonstrating the ability to communicate clearly and act as a leader in both business and interpersonal areas.

Cool under pressure especially during peak workload times.
