*Accountant- Duties and Responsibilities:* We are seeking suitably qualified high performing Accountant to join our federal accounting team.
You will be involved in providing Accounting, Payroll and Data Analytic functions to our federal clients.
The position reports to the Founding Partner(s) and leadership of the teaming partner/clients and will have direct responsibility for the following: * Performing accounting functions for our federal clients including: * Recording accounting transaction in accordance with Office of Management Budget and Department of Treasury Guidance.
* Processing Journal Entries * Conduct Reconciliations * Processing payroll (processing bi-weekly payroll, executing personnel actions and ensuring payroll elections are accurately reflected for pay period, performing reconciliations with third party service provided, analyzing payroll accrual and unfunded leave) * Perform data analytics using excel (pivot tables and VLookup) and other software such as Access Database * Perform monthly reconciliation of Fund Balance with Treasury * Research, analyze, and report on accounting and related issues and developments when applicable * Collaborate with other team members including Managers/ Partners to ensure effective communication and service delivery * Develop and maintain great client relationship * Maintain the highest technical and professional standard * Anticipates and addresses situations before they become crises and develops solutions to mitigate client service risks * Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills * Support monthly quarterly and annual closings * Comply with Federal Financial Policies and Regulations *Skills and Qualifications:* * Three plus years’ experience working withing the Accounting Profession (federal accounting and reporting including performing journal entries and using the United States Standard General Ledger is a bonus).
* Three years experience conducting reconciliations.
* Proficient using excel at an advanced level including using pivot tables and VLookup to perform data analysis * First-hand experience using computer software to analyze data including Access Database and other software * Strong organization skills and attention to detail * Ability to work well by yourself and/or with others * Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal team skills *Education and Experience* * Bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree in accounting * Have or eligible to sit for the CPA exam (preferred) * Potential to pass security clearance- The candidate must be clearable to work on Federal engagements.
* Must be a US Citizen * Federal accounting and financial reporting experience (Bonus) * Must be based in the greater Washington DC Metropolitan area * Must be willing to come in to the office sometimes if necessary (Once a week) Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract Pay: $30.
